Bamboo is one of the four plant pillars beloved by poets and philosophers. It’s features in perseverance, artlessness and slenderness have become common themes in Chinese poets, paintings and calligraphy. In natural environment, the shadow of swaying bamboo forests symbolizes the beauty of elegance and prestige. Design of this work is inspired by Chinese calligraphy. The connotation of Zen is captured and restored into the durable virtues of bamboo, giving a fresh breeze of fragrance. Focal parts of this necklace are 14 imperial emerald jadeites carved into bamboo branches. The bamboo branches appear suspended from the circle of the necklace with diamonds. Slightly benting, showing grace and suppleness, they dance in the wind and invite us with their pure beauty.
This 18K white gold diamond necklace was made in December 2016, with 14 glittering imperial emerald jadeites of fine clarity weigh 57.305 carats, 41 fancy-cut twinkling diamonds weigh 5.683 carats, 333 crystal clear diamonds weigh 17.368 carats inlaid in the necklace setting.
